The Islamic Society of Greater Houston has been blessed by Allah(swt) to serve our community since 1969. Forty years ago, our local community began with a small handful of families and today we are an integral and growing part of this great city. It is our faith that binds us together as a community – but it is also so much more.
It is because of our faith that we started the Shifa Clinic – a provider that delivers medical care to members of any ethnicity or any faith.
It is because of our faith and the generosity of this community that we have distributed $700,000 of Zakat money to hundreds of needy families across the region each year.
It is because of our faith that ISGH, with its affiliate schools, is educating over 3500 students so they can lead our community into the future.
It is because of our faith that we offer funeral services to bring comfort to families in their hour of need.
The Muslim organizations in this city do a great deal of work from refugee relocation to safeguarding civil liberties. We help care for those in need whether it is through the Zakat program or the Shifa Clinics – Our members demonstrate their faith everyday through service to the community. ISGH is proud of our great community and the numerous organizations that provide so many services not just to Muslim Americans but to all people.
