Services
A. Educational
Quranic
Study: The study of Qur'an, Hadith, Fiqh and/or History
of Islam is conducted every Friday evening and Sunday
at noon (in Ramadan after Asr) at the ISGH Main Center
and at various times during the week at zonal centers.
Quranic Education for Children: The ISGH schools at
the various centers offer Islamic education to children.
Al-Dawah: Many people have embraced Islam due to the
ISGH efforts.
Publications: The bi-monthly "Voice of Islam" periodical
serves as a link between ISGH and our community.
Symposium: The ISGH conducts annual symposia and seminars
on pertinent current topics of Islam.
Library and Book Service: Books can be bought and borrowed
through the Book Service/Library.
B. Religious
Prayers: Daily prayers, Friday, Janazah, Taraweeh and Eid prayers are offered at ISGH centers and other places. Arrangements are also made for commemorating special occasions such as Lailatul Qadr, Isra and Meraj, Hijra, Shaban and others.
Marriages: Islamic marriages are performed and are accepted and certified by the State of Texas.
Funerals: Funeral services to Muslims are also performed.
Muslim Cemetery: The ISGH has negotiated with the State of Texas and has access to a cemetery with 274 grave sites.
C. Social
Islamic Festivities: Iftars and dinners during Ramadan, and Eid dinners are arranged every year.
Outdoor Activities: Picnics and get together are organized.
Welfare Activities: Zakat funds are collected and disbursed to the needy Muslim brother and sisters. Visits to the sick and emergency medical facilities to the visitors, new comers and the poor are provided for via volunteer physicians.
D. Checkomatic Withdrawal System
All the activities of ISGH are conducted through the
financial support of the members. For stable and advance
planningof ISGH activities, a Chechomatic System has
been instituted. Once a voluntary pledge is made, the
donation is directly drawn from the member's bank account
on a monthly basis. As the community services keep expanding,
the receipts fall short of the disbursements. Expenses
include stall salaries, rent, utilities, property insurance
& maintenance, publications, Eid prayer hall rentals
and financial assistance to the poor Muslims.
Future plans require that masajid and schools must be constructed in all the zones. Only a conscientious and responsible community can meet the present commitment and face the future challenges through financial support and volunteer work.
