This new academic
institution would be erected on a 20-acre plot of land located at
W. Little York and Langfield Road
(1 mile form Hwy 290, 3 miles from Beltway 8, and 5 miles from loop
610) - an area zoned light industrial.
According to Dr. Mohammad Afsar, one of the leaders of this project,
the goals of the institute include:
to establish an Islamic education of high standard
to promote Islamic education and values in our coming generation
to attract best minds for secular education at minimum cost to all
levels of community
to cherish brotherhood-sisterhood values to create strong bond of
friendship
to inculcate qualities of love and affection, faith and discipline,
patience and unity, teachings of Islam for honesty, respect for
elders and parents
This one-complex project is expected to evolve to completion over
a 15-year period
and cost approximately $25 million dollars.
It will house the following:
a main center and mosque (capacity 800) with front parking
a kindergarten and elementary school for 500 students
a junior and middle school for 500 students
a high school for 500 students
a university for 15000 students
Plans to make the project a reality are being examined.
